The current Business Migration Program aims to attract business people with a proven track record of success, business skills and required capital for settlement in Australia. There are a number of visa classes associated with the business skills category. These range from business owners, investors and senior executives of large companies. Visas can be granted for permanent residence or temporary residence.
Obtaining immediate permanent migration currently applies only to overseas applicant clients with exceptional business skills. Where permanent visa requirements are not met, applicants will initially need to apply for a provisional (temporary) business skills four-year visa under the new two-stage business skills migration scheme, and after providing satisfactory evidence of a specified level of business activity in Australia, may apply for a permanent business skills visa..

There are four main visa types under Business (Temporary) Category:
Business Owner (Provisional)
For owners of a business or part of business with a genuine commitment to establish and manage a business in Australia
Business Owner State/Territory (Provisional)
For owners of a business or part of business sponsored by State/Territory government with a genuine commitment to establish and manage a business in Australia
Senior Executive (Provisional)
For senior executives of a major business with a genuine commitment to participate in the ownership and management of a new or existing business in Australia .
Senior Executive State/Territory (Provisional)
For senior executives of a major business sponsored by State/Territory government with a genuine commitment to participate in the ownership and management of a new or existing business in Australia.
Investment (Provisional)
For applicants who have maintained a considerable investment portfolio or ownership in a business, and are willing to make an investment of at least A$750,000 in Australian bonds for 4 years.
Investment State/Territory (Provisional)
For applicants who have maintained a considerable investment portfolio or ownership in a business, sponsored by State/Territory government and are willing to make an investment of at least A$750,000 in Australian bonds for 4 years.
Business Talent (Migrant) visas are granted to people with an overall successful business career who are sponsored by an Australia State or Territory government. You are expected to maintain substantial ownership in a business and be involved the management of this business once in Australia.
